3 men, relaxing and lying down on brick steps

Today (8th April 2021) marks the beginning of transforming emotional wellbeing and mental health service for Surrey’s children, young people and families. Relate West Surrey is proud to play our part in this new and improved range of services.

This new community-focused approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health for children, young people and families starts its roll-out today. Relate West Surrey will work closely with schools, GPs and many community groups to improve the lives of younger people. Crucially, young people will have a central voice in decisions about their care, and goals identified by them will drive what they choose to help achieve them.

Any time after the start of service

A new alliance of NHS and voluntary sector organisations is working together to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children, young people and families. We’re very pleased to provide our services for this programme.

More choice and control, getting support earlier and more opportunity to access a range of services in many different ways and settings is at the heart of this new approach.

ore than 100 new staff, transformed neurodevelopmental services, a 24/7 crisis line and out-of-hours advice are all part of a commitment to improve and increase emotional wellbeing and mental health support for children, young people and families in Surrey.

A new Community Wellbeing Team has been created to support young people in the Surrey community as soon as they start to feel they are struggling. It’s part of this new approach which will transform services over the next year or two.
