Relate West Surrey is a Registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. We do not aim to make a profit from our services, but we do need to cover our costs. We work hard to secure funding from our partners who enable us, in certain circumstances, to offer reductions (please see the section below: “Reductions/Bursaries”). Charges for our services are as follows:
|Relationship Counselling||£62.50 per session – reductions may be available, please see note below*|
|Skype Webcam Counselling||£60 per session for relationship counselling, £70 per hourly session for family counselling|
|Family Counselling||£70 per session – reductions may be available, please see note below*|
|Sex Therapy||£75 per session|
|Family Mediation||Click here for details|
You will be asked to pay in advance of your consultation appointment and all other appointments thereafter. We accept all types of payment, except American Express.
Our counsellors’ time is a precious commodity. When you commit to a course of counselling, we ask you to do your very best to come at the agreed time every week. This helps you to make the best use of your counselling and also helps us to manage the service efficiently. We ask you not to cancel a counselling session without a very good reason. If you do need to cancel, please make sure that you give as much notice as possible.
If you cancel an appointment with more than 2 working day’s notice (Monday to Friday 4pm), then any payment you have made in advance will be refunded.
If sessions are cancelled with less than 2 working day’s notice, you will be charged your weekly payment. If payment has been made in advance, no refund of fees can be given. This is because we will have incurred all the expense of providing the appointment and will probably not be able to use it for another client. Cancelled and unkept appointments are a heavy burden on the charity’s finances.
More than two consecutive cancellations may prompt your counsellor to consider withdrawing our service altogether so that your timeslot can be offered to someone else on our waiting list.
If you are unable to pay the full amount for each session (for example, if you and/or your partner are unemployed or on a low income), you may be eligible for one of our bursary schemes* which will give you a reduction in the session charge. All bursary schemes run for 6 sessions only; if further counselling is required after 6 sessions then further reductions are at the discretion of the Chief Executive. Please note that there are more opportunities for bursary reductions for daytime sessions. Please ask our Appointment Secretaries for further information.
*The Centre reserves the right to request proof of income for clients who access our bursary fund.
